About Anu Change Una McGoey
I found my way to coaching, but I took a lot of different paths and turns to get here. Starting with my career in Financial Services in Greenwich Connecticut, also where my 21 year old son was born.
I was Branch Manager in the Financial Services Industry for 23 years. I had many roles in Financial Services Industry starting on Customer Service Desk and progressing to Project Management area. Previous management roles included responsibility for leading, coaching and motivating staff, with a view to creating and maintaining high-performance, customer-focused, compliant and profitable branches. This also involved conducting interactive workshops, delivering training sessions, coaching and developing bank branch managers to implement best-in-class initiatives and embed strong coaching culture within Regional and Branch Management teams. It was here that my skills in forming relationships and truly listening to what people had to say really grew. I then went on to earn a Post Graduate in Leading and Management People. I found that I was always at my happiest when I was truly “coaching” the managers and staff that I worked with and this had lead me to where I am today.
One of the greatest challenges in both personal and business lives is implementing change. Key roles in recent years has been to manage and lead the change agenda in the Financial Services Industry. This passion for the successful implementation of change, together with expertise in career planning has led into personal coaching, and helping to facilitate individuals making life changing choices and assisting them in achieving their goals.
My two decades of experience has been supported by relevant educational and professional qualifications in financial services (QFA, Prof Dip), Sales, Business Entrepreneurship, Leadership and Management (Post Grad Leading and Managing people) in addition to Dip in Life Coaching, Train The Trainer and Mentoring. Along side the various roles I was involved with Be at your Best Programme, with the support of the charity partner Pieta House. Mind Ur Buddy is a way of enabling colleagues to support colleagues. We were taught how to notice the tell-tale signs of changes in behaviour of people in the workplace and what to do when they spot it. Also as part of the programme I attended Mindfulness training courses, enabling me to lead mindfulness meditations with colleagues. I live in Carlingford, Co Louth Ireland with my son, Cian.
